Terms Used Around the Site
Document Feedback The Foresight website provides a facility to allow all users to provide feedback about a document. Anybody can use the feedback facility on the site to send comments to the document contact. This is done via e-mail. The user will need an e-mail account.
E-mail
electronic method of sending information. Typically needs a "provider" such as a company or a university.
Foresight Entity
a Project or Authorised Organisation (organisation approved by the Foresight Directorate) that has been given appropriate permissions for the Foresight website by the Foresight Directorate.
Meta Information or Meta Data This is information about the document contained in the Foresight website. It can broadly be sub-divided into two distinct types:
- Admin Information such as Document Title, Author and Publish Date
- Classification Information such as "Weather" or "Environment"
Publish
the action of loading a document in to an area of the Foresight website.
Publishing Area
these are the areas within the system within which information can be stored.
