Project Aim

The aim of the project was:

To produce a challenging and long-term (30 - 100 years) vision for the future of flood and coastal defence in the whole of the UK that takes account of the many uncertainties, is robust, and can be used as a basis to inform policy and its delivery.

The findings of the Flood and Coastal Defence project were published on 22 April 2004 as the 'Future Flooding' report

• Brief overview of approach and findings.
• 'UK flood risk 2030 to 2100: Responding to the challenge' - the project's leading experts presented their findings at an open conference on 27 April at the Institution of Civil Engineers, London.
